SoSkAn GDPR Statement

SoSkAn will store and use your personal data for the purposes of administering the association and your involvement in its activities. This will include email notifications to you and other members where your email address will be displayed or accessible. The data will not be shared with any outside business or organisation. The data will be collected and processed in accordance with SoSkAn’s Privacy Policy and the GDPR 2018 If you do not wish for your information to be used in this way, please state this to us now by emailing membership@soskan.org.uk   

GDPR Policy

As a Re-enactment and Living History association, the Southern Skirmish Association (hereafter referred to as SoSkAn) strives to ensure that the personal data it holds about the membership is:

  • Truly secure
  • Viewed only by those who really need to view it
  • Limited to what is needed
  • Accurate
  • Up to date and easily amended if incorrect
  • Only kept for as long as it is needed such as email messages, emailed newsletters etc may contain a member’s name and those of other SoSkAn members.
  • Not passed on to any other organization outside of SoSkAn

 

SoSkAn acknowledges that:

  • The SoSkAn committee is aware that Data Protection legislation applies to the Club
    The SoSkAn website informs people of how their data will be used
  • All SoSkAn committee members understand how to handle personal data
  • SoSkAn committee members have given permission for their names and contact details to be made publicly available
  • There is a process to follow if any Personal Data is lost or stolen
  • Changes within SoSkAn that affect the use of Personal Data are communicated
  • Members understand that broadcast emails (within SoSkAn such as email messages, emailed newsletters) can present a security risk
  • Personal Data will only be used for Club purposes
  • Failure to comply with the Data Protection legislation can mean substantial fines as well as reputational damage
  • If a breach occurs, SoSkAn must notify the UK’s data authorities within 72 hours. For UK residents, the proper authority is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
